Job Announcement : The East Grand Forks Civil Service will be accepting applications for a fulltime position in the Water & Light Department: Water Plant Superintendent Qualifications: Possession of a Class A Water Operator’s License from the State of Minnesota; OR qualifications sufficient to obtain a Class A license with 2 years of on the job experience; OR qualifications sufficient to meet the Minnesota State requirements for certification reciprocity under current rules. The City of Morris is seeking a Water-Wastewater Operator to work in the Public Works Department. Applicant must have a minimum of a MDH Class C Water Operator’s License and a MPCA Class D Wastewater Operator’s License. Have two (2) years of education in water-wastewater operation, and preferably, two (2) to five (5) years experience working in the water-wastewater field. Have a class B driver’s license. Primary work includes operation and maintenance of the City water and wastewater utilities, including potable water system, wells, distribution system, wastewater collection system, Class D wastewater treatment facilities, Class C water treatment facility, laboratory, and SCADA System. Position will also assist Public Works Department with all other duties as needed. Starting pay is $16.49 per hour, plus benefits. The City of Cokato is accepting a resume with application for a Public Works Director position for the Public Works Department. The current director is retiring in late 2010. The position is fulltime (FT) with responsibility as a department head to supervise the daily operation that includes streets, parks, water and waste water (sanitary/storm sewer) activities and other city assignments. Minimum Qualifications includes a high school diploma or equivalent. Completed college level classes in public works field are desirable. Applicants must have three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience in a public works setting. Special license certification requirements must include: Class B Commercial (CDL), Class C Water & Wastewater, Type Four BIO-Solids plus ability to read construction blue prints. Excellent public relations/customer service and verbal skills are essential to the position. Candidates must also successfully pass a physical, drug/alcohol testing and background check. Iowa Lakes Regional Water - Water and Wastewater Operator Position -- Iowa Lakes Regional Water’s mission statement is to serve as a regional utility organization and provide the appropriate services reasonably necessary for public health, economic development, convenience, and comfort of its members. The purpose of rural water is to provide quality and quantities of water needed for its members and Iowa Lakes Regional Water provides service to nearly 4,000 customers in Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Palo Alto, O’Brien Counties in Iowa and Jackson County in Minnesota. Iowa Lakes Regional Water also partners with nearly 20 communities in the service area to work together to provide water solutions. In addition, Iowa Lakes Regional Water provides technical and financially feasible wastewater solutions to six communities and plans to construct three new wastewater systems in 2010 throughout the service area. At this time, Iowa Lakes Regional Water is accepting applications for a water and wastewater operator position. KANDIYOHI COUNTY Facility Operator I Public Works Department/ Green Lake Sanitary Sewer and Water District  -Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all GLSSWD facilities including water supply, storage, distribution and treatment facilities and wastewater collection and treatment facilities. This position, as directed, requires an approximate, once a month 8-day shift through a weekend and associated holidays with 24 hour a day on call status. This position also requires a twenty-minute response time to the GLSSWD Wastewater Treatment Facility while on call. High School Diploma or GED and two years experience operating, maintaining and repairing water and wastewater treatment facilities or High School Diploma and one year college or technical training in water/wastewater field or other equivalent experience. MDH Class D Water Operators License and MPCA Class D Wastewater Operator License preferred. Valid driver’s license required. Ability to obtain special engineer boiler license within six months of hiring date. Plant Supervisor Position - Lewis & Clark Regional Water System is a fast growing water system that will provide treated water to parts of SE South Dakota, NW Iowa and SW Minnesota.
